SHAH ALAM, 21 November 2024 – UiTM has demonstrated strong fundamentals in fostering interdisciplinary research and
collaboration, earning its position at 136 in the first edition of the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR), announced on November 21, 2024. This ranking, launched in association with Schmidt Science Fellows, measures universities’ contributions and commitment to interdisciplinary science.
The ISR 2025 focuses on science disciplines within the high-level subjects of computer science, engineering, life sciences, and physical sciences. A total of 749 universities from 92 countries and territories are included, reflecting the consensus that global challenges require insights from various scholarly fields.
The ISR methodology consists of three pillars: inputs, process, and outputs – each divided into 11 metrics. Data for these rankings is collected directly from universities, validated by THE, and includes quantitative and evidence data. Bibliometric data from Elsevier, covering over 157 million citations to 18 million publications, is also utilised.
