revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development
UiTM Kedah Forges International Connection with Institute of Southern Punjab, Pakistan
UiTM has set the goal of becoming a globally renowned university by 2025, a vision outlined in its GRU2025 blueprint. To achieve this, the university has conceptualised and implement Global Learning. The focus of this initiative is to bring international connections and live interactions directly into the classroom. The aim of this endeavour is to provide world-class education while helping students become competent graduates with the acceleration of online learning and virtual meetings, Global Learning is even more relevant as UiTM students can now have international speakers in their classroom experiencing any geographical limitations.
Realising the benefit of such an innovation, UiTM Kedah Branch has successfully conducted a Global Learning session for its students. The Global Learning session was attended by 34 students. The invited speaker was Mr. Abdul Bari Khan, a senior lecturer at the Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan, Pakistan. The topics covered by Mr Abdul Bari Khan were Consideration for Professional Interaction, Professional Etiquette, Politeness & Concept of Face which align with the English for Professional Interaction subject learning outcomes. The session was conducted via Webex and was organised by Syazliyati Ibrahim, Rafidah Amat, Dr Nursyazwanie Mansor, Nur Hidyati Zolhani, and Nurazila Abdul Aziz, lecturers from UiTM Kedah.
All in all, the students gave positive feedback and were able to garner valuable insights from the invited speaker. The experiences shared with the students by the speaker, enabled them to learn about different perspectives on workplace issues and compare their future workplace scenarios with those in Pakistan.

UiTM and READ Institute Sign MoU to Enhance Global Educational and Research Partnerships
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Research and Education Development (READ) Institute, Indonesia. In collaboration with the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training at IAIN Palopo, Indonesia, READ provides a platform known as the International Journal of Asian Education (IJAE), which welcomes high-quality original papers on education from researchers, academicians, professionals and practitioners from around the world.
The IJAE is a publication focusing on general education studies. It provides professional and academic analysis of global issues a tall levels of education, both formal and informal. The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles by international authors covering a variety of educationrelated topics, including pedagogy and instruction, history, philosophy, psychology, sociology, international and comparative education, and educational leadership. The articles offer original insights into educational policies, services, processes and practices and draw on experiences from different countries around the world.
The MOU, initiated by Ts Dr Duratul Ain Tholibon, Senior Lecturer of Civil Engineering Studies, College of Engineering, UiTM Pahang Branch, Jengka Campus, fulfils performance indicators PI 74 and PI 90, which refer to new MoUs with international institutions related to academic or research activities.
The MOU will run for one year and is intended to enhance collaboration between UiTM and READ. It is hoped that this MoU will strengthen, promote and expand international partnerships in the fields of science, culture and research. This MoU is in line with SDG 17, which focuses on partnerships for the goals, and aims to enhance the global visibility of the UiTM Pahang Branch.

UiTM Enhances Global Connectivity with Strategic International Partnerships
The Institute of Continuing Education and Professional Studies (iCEPS) of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) formalised partnerships with six distinguished local and international institutions. These Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) represent a significant step forward in fostering global connections in the field of transnational education, leadership training, and professional and short-course programmes.
Under the leadership of UiTM Vice - Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @Sahibuddin, iCEPS aims to promote lifelong learning through robust local and international collaborations. The MoAs and MoUs were signed with the following partners who participated both virtually and in person:
- Halal Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippines
- Institute for Adult Development (IAD), United Kingdom
- Global Academia Sdn Bhd
- Yayasan Malindo Worldwide
- EWIC
- Melaka International College of Science and Technology (MiCoST)
Datuk Professor Dr Azizul Halim bin Yahya, Chief Executive Officer of iCEPS, also attended the signing ceremony. These agreements emphasise UiTM’s commitment to providing excellent education and lifelong learning opportunities, enhancing its international reputation and meeting the global demand for higher education.
