Empowering Future Entrepreneurs: TikTok Entrepreneurship Workshop at UiTM

The “TikTok Entrepreneurship Workshop” programme at UiTM aims to help students generate income through entrepreneurial activities on campus. The programme, which was attended by 54 participants from the Faculty of Health Sciences, 18 executive committee members from the Occupational Therapy Students’ Association and 2 VIPs, aims to produce optimistic and broad-minded students who are open to running businesses online or in person. The guest speaker, Business Social Media Consultant Muhammad Haziq Bin Rizal, has more than three years of experience in helping entrepreneurs create content on social media to increase sales through TikTok application. The programme was well received, with active comments and two-way communication between participants and guest speakers. The workshop concluded with a photography session in the hope that the insights shared by Mr Haziq can help participants in starting a business

Entrepreneurship Empowerment Carnival: Cultivating Future Business Leaders

Entrepreneurial Carnival 2023, organised by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia in Putrajaya, served as a preliminary testing ground for College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics (KPPIM) students to assess their entrepreneurial skills. The event focused on promoting the selling points of Sharifah, a brand from SHRF Food, and raising brand awareness. The event aimed to help students develop confidence, communication skills and resilience. The faculty and SHRF Food Sdn Bhd have partnered to expand the market for their ready-to-eat Malaysian cuisines and cooking pastes. The students, especially the members of the entrepreneurship association, were equipped with product knowledge and the corporate background of SHRF Food. The faculty also plans to collaborate with SHRF Food Sdn Bhd in various areas including entrepreneurship, incubators, consultancy, application development and internships.

Faculty of Business and Management is Moving Forward with International Collaborations Through Expert Forum Sharing Session

The Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) emphasises the importance of increased collaboration between academic institutions and industry. The Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and the College of Creative Arts co-hosted an expert sharing session with Professor Dr Martina Maria Keitsch from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. This programme provided an engaging and informative session aimed at advancing sustainable studies and exploring a broad range of knowledge.

The event, held at UiTM GESTURZ, aimed to create a platform for dialogue in the field of sustainable design management that goes beyond conventional boundaries by exploring the intricacies of sustainability studies and envisioning a better future for global communities. The event was hosted by the School of Creative Arts under the leadership of Dr Siti Salwa Isa and Mr Abu Ali and jointly organised with the Department of International Business and Management Studies under the initiative of Associate Professor Dr Nor Lelawati Jamaludin from the FBM, supported by students from the Department of Postgraduate Studies FBM and GESTURZ UiTM.

An exciting sharing session with Professor Dr Martina Maria Keitsch from Norway took place, providing a unique opportunity to gain insights and perspectives from her studies and experiences in the field of sustainability. A notable highlight of the event was the group work, where the participants were divided into eight groups. Each group had the task of developing creative ideas that were in line with the chosen sustainable goals and met the social requirements. They also had to come up with innovative designs that offered novel and imaginative solutions that could captivate and appeal to both society and the target audience.

This initiative is helping to create an academic ecosystem that responds to the changing scenario of higher education and promotes innovative pedagogies for resilient education that nurtures the minds of tomorrow. The knowledge shared, connections made and memories created during this event will definitely leave a lasting impression on the participants and inspire them to make further contributions in the field of sustainability management and decision making.
